FREE SPIRITS

Friday adventures are all about discovering new treasures in Cape Town. What better place to begin our first Friday adventure than with Cape Town's cultural hub, Long Street. It didn't take a long time before we settled on a double storey joint named Mr Pickwicks. A cross between a Victorian pub and a pirate ship, Mr Pickwicks is the perfect place for lazy chill session after class. Don't forget your pack of cigs so you can make the most of the Table Mountain view and people-watching on the balcony.

The menu's pretty vast and you can order anything from a milkshake to a foot-long sub. Try the Mr Snodgrass, a sandwich with bacon, cheese and mushrooms (basically all the good stuff) or a Samweller burger with bacon and camembert (Mr Pickwicks loves their bacon, and so do we.)

The price list (burgers averaging 65 bucks) didn't make my wallet want to cry and the service was great. If you're looking for a place to give your feet a rest after a lengthy day of shopping on Long, Mr Pickwicks is definitely a place to check out.
